Job Summary:
Lead the tax compliance team within the Torrance office, overseeing all client tax return preparation and ensuring accuracy. Serve as the primary liaison between staff, partners and clients. Manage various initiatives and tax planning strategies. Mentor staff towards goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and sign corporate, partnership and trust returns including multi-state.
- Handle tax agency correspondence and client notifications.
- Guide staff on tax and software questions.
- Assist with audit documentation and research.
- Ensure returns, extensions and filings meet deadlines.
- Identify applicable tax issues and research resolutions.
- Build client relationships by attending meetings.
- Manage extended work as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred.
- 5+ years managing tax teams, 7+ years public accounting experience.
- Expertise in partnership, real estate and consulting preferred.
- Proficiency in Axcess/ProSystem tax software.
- Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.
- Expert knowledge of individual, corporate and trust tax codes.
