Medical Director - Cardiology

Job Description

Conduct chart and peer reviews.
Review and evaluate the necessity of medical services that do not meet the utilization review criteria.
Review appeals for denied services using your medical expertise and our policy guidelines.
Engage in discussions with referring physicians to clarify clinical information and to explain decision for the outcome of reviews.
Expand your network by working collaboratively with over 500 Physician Peers
Training will be provided, and you will be supported by your peers, mentors, and leaders.

Qualifications Required:

M.D. or D.O. with a current, active, U.S. state medical license and board certified in Cardiology, recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience, beyond residency/fellowship.
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws. Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)standards is a plus.
The ability to commit to a set, weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).
Strong computer skills and ability to work autonomously with automated processes and computer applications and systems.

This is a Full time (40 hours per week) position.
100% remote work at home – Monday to Friday. No Calls, Evenings or Weekend Work.
