Medical Director - Cardiology

Job Description
  • Conduct chart and peer reviews.
  •  Review and evaluate the necessity of medical services that do not meet the utilization review criteria.
  • Review appeals for denied services using your medical expertise and our policy guidelines.
  • Engage in discussions with referring physicians to clarify clinical information and to explain decision for the outcome of reviews.
  • Expand your network by working collaboratively with over 500 Physician Peers
  • Training will be provided, and you will be supported by your peers, mentors, and leaders.
Qualifications Required:
  • M.D. or D.O. with a current, active, U.S. state medical license and board certified in Cardiology, recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience, beyond residency/fellowship.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws. Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)standards is a plus.
  • The ability to commit to a set, weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work autonomously with automated processes and computer applications and systems.
  • This is a Full time (40 hours per week) position.
  • 100% remote work at home – Monday to Friday. No Calls, Evenings or Weekend Work.
