CODE 14 DRIVER

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Code 14 driver to join our team.
You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials to various destinations in the Cape Town area. Your attention to detail and adherence to traffic laws, and commitment to delivering exceptional service will contribute to our company’s success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate a Code 14 vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load, transport and offload goods and materials according to delivery schedules and instructions.
- Plan routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries while considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions and vehicle restrictions.
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip, identifying and reporting any mechanical issues or damages.
- Perform basic maintenance such as checking oil levels, tyre pressure, and conduct regular cleaning of the vehicle.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize accidents and ensure the protection of goods, vehicle, and personnel.
- Interact professionally with customers, ensuring excellent customer service and timely communication regarding delivery status.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent driving skills, with the ability to maneuver heavy vehicles in various conditions.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of loading, offloading and securing goods.
- Skills to maintain accurate records and complete paperwork.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate reliability, and meet deadlines.
- Flexible to work overtime as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in the transportation industry.
- Familiar with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices.
- Mechanical aptitude to handle basic repairs and troubleshoot minor issues on the road.
Working hours will be from 07:00 – 16:30. Must be willing to complete tasks after hours if necessary or when the workload requires working late.
