As an External Sales Representative, you will play a critical role in driving sales, building strong customer relationships, and promoting our premium steel roofing products. You will be responsible for identifying and targeting new customers, nurturing existing client accounts, and representing our company with professionalism and expertise. Your efforts will contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Prospecting and Lead Generation:
- Identify and research potential customers in the steel roofing market.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads.
- Understand the needs and requirements of prospective customers.
- Recommend appropriate steel roofing solutions based on customer needs.
- Present product features, advantages, and benefits effectively.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Keep clients informed about new products, updates, and promotions.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and product offerings.
- Be an expert on our steel roofing products and their applications.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
- Utilize CRM tools to track leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Provide feedback to the management team to improve our offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in external sales or business development within the steel roofing or construction industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Results-orientated and self-motivated with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to travel and attend client meetings, trade shows, and events as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
