Position Summary:
Assist in overseeing all laboratory operations to ensure maximum quality testing, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient care under the Section Supervisor's direction. Perform supervisor duties in their absence and provide general support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure delivery of quality lab services per standards.
- Supervise testing personnel and quality control programs.
- Train, evaluate, and develop staff competencies.
- Monitor test performance, instrumentation, and turnaround times.
- Participate in committees and process improvement initiatives.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and general lab operations.
- Communicate with interdisciplinary teams on lab matters.
- Assist with software management and troubleshooting issues.
- Uphold HR, safety, and regulatory policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- BS in Clinical Technology or related science field.
- 4+ years of relevant hospital laboratory experience.
- ASCP certification preferred.
- NYS licensure or eligibility required.
Additional Information:
- Provide cross-training, audit reports, and oversee payrolling tasks.
- Act as a primary supervisor in their absence.
- Participate in ongoing education and competency assessments.
- Demonstrate leadership, supervision, and strong technical skills.
- Ensure compliant, high-quality patient care through testing services.
